The Crescent House is a bold architectural statement that integrates a modern dental clinic with a tranquil private residence, unified through a distinctive crescent-shaped form. Located across from Taman Gandaria Tengah, this hybrid dwelling responds to the evolving demands of urban life, merging professional functionality with residential comfort in a singular, expressive structure.
The ground floor houses a dental clinic designed with a warm and sophisticated atmosphere. Every detail, from ambient lighting to ergonomic layouts, supports both patient comfort and the operational efficiency of the clinic. Above, the residence unfolds with thoughtful zoning and spatial clarity. All private areas, including bedrooms, are placed at the rear of the site, ensuring a quiet buffer from street noise and maximizing privacy.
Materially, the architecture balances tropical warmth and brutalist honesty, expressed through a palette of exposed concrete, wooden ceilings, and natural finishes. These materials lend the building a grounded, tactile presence while reinforcing the duality of its program: refined yet raw, calm yet robust.
At the heart of the structure, two internal courtyards allow daylight and cross-ventilation to penetrate deep into the home. These voids act as passive cooling systems and bring a natural rhythm to the layout. Above the living room, a rooftop skypool provides views of the public park across the street and adds a sculptural, interactive feature. The pool includes a circular glass floor, offering a glimpse of swimmers from below while introducing additional skylight into the living area, enhancing both visual interest and indoor air quality.
The overall form, defined by its curved façade, creates a dynamic street presence while shaping internal spatial experiences. It is not simply a visual gesture, but a response to flow, light, and privacy. The Curved Crescent House reimagines hybrid living with clarity and boldness, where the boundaries between work, leisure, and architecture dissolve into a single, intentional form.
